Let’s Talk About ✨Tipping✨
I want to take a moment to talk about something that can sometimes feel awkward: tipping.
First off — tipping is never expected, but always deeply appreciated. I offer my services with the goal of keeping them affordable and accessible to everyone, because I believe art and creativity, sensitivity reading and so much more shouldn’t be out of reach. That being said, behind the scenes, I’m not just an artist and business owner — I’m also a single father, working hard to balance passion, work, and family life.
If you ever feel moved to leave a tip, know that it directly supports not just my Sensitivity Reading business and creative work, but also my ability to take care of my little ones and keep doing what I love. That said, please always prioritize your own family, needs, and responsibilities first. I truly understand that life can be tight.
There are other ways to support me as a small business other than tipping. Sharing my name and services within your circle. Sharing my social media, and websites, and also leaving a positive review for my services.
Whether you tip, share, comment, or simply support quietly — it all matters. And I’m grateful for every bit of it.
Thank you for trusting me with your story, characters and life work. I appreciate you!
Why Crediting Sensitivity Readers Matters
If you’ve hired me as a sensitivity reader, first — thank you for taking that thoughtful step toward creating more respectful, authentic, and inclusive work. Thank you for trusting me with your work, characters, and story. That said, there’s one more important part of the process: crediting the sensitivity reader in your author’s note, acknowledgments, or credits.
Including my name (or a general acknowledgment of sensitivity reading services) is more than just a professional courtesy — it’s a helpful reference for both readers and fellow writers. If someone has questions about the content, or if a topic sparks conversation or critique, naming your sensitivity reader can provide transparency and show that care and consultation were part of your process.
It also helps avoid unnecessary conflicts or misunderstandings once your work is published. A clear acknowledgment signals that you didn’t make these decisions alone — and that you took the time to engage with the topic responsibly.
Here are some suggestions for how you can word it (why is thst such an on brand thing for me to say? 😅)
- Blair Wynters (Keep in mind auto correct likes to mess with “Wynters” remember it is a “Y” not an “I”.)
- Blair Wynters DSR.
- Deaf Sensitivity Reader
- DSR (if you like more short hand and quick references.
- You can always message me for other ideas, or questions 🙂
Whether you name me directly or reference sensitivity reading services more generally, a simple line in your credits goes a long way in supporting your work — and mine.
Thank you for continuing to create with care.
